B., Fairfield, a native of St. Johnsville, Montgomery county, came to Fairfield at the age of seven. He owns a fine dairy farm of fifty- three acres, and raises thoroughbred Jersey cattle, the only farmer in the town making a specialty of this breed. In 1873 he married Ada V. Willard, a descendant of one of the first settlers of the town. They now occupy a portion of the farm cleared by her ancestors, and have four children: Mary T., Ward W., Charles J. and Clara A. The mother of Mr. Helligas was a native of Manheim. and his father was born in Jefferson county.
