May 30, 1847. His father, Samuel Helmer, is still living at the old homestead. Mr. Helmer. after leaving the farm in, 1879, established a meat market in Dolgeville, where he has conducted a most successful business for a number of years. In 1879 he married Alice Sullivan, who left him two sons and one daughter. He married second Sophia Englehardt, and they have one son. Mr. Helmer is one of Dolgeville's most esteemed citizens.
