Henry Hose, in Kring's Bush, a farming district north of St. Johnsville in Montgomery county, N. Y. His parents soon after located in St. Johnsville. After receiving a good education in the schools of that town, he took a commercial course in Cazenovia Seminary. His early business experience was in mercantile transactions, he having been engaged in this line in St. Johnsville for two years, and at Fort Plain. In the year 1876 he entered the employ of H. M. Burch & Company, with whom he remained seven vears. He then accepted a position with Titus Sheard & Company as book-keeper, eventually being admitted a member of the concern, in which he now holds the position of secretary of the company. Mr. Hose is a member of various local social and benevolent institutions. He married Edith I. Sheard, and they have one child.
