Y. He has been in the woolen manufacturing line for thirteen years and is an expert. He was five years in Pittsfield, Mass., and after three years' absence returned to the same firm. He was two years in Woonsocket and four years in Providence, R. I., then with the Rhode Island Knitting Company in Berwick three years. After a short stay in Fonda, N. Y., he returned to Little Falls and is one of the superintendents of MacKinnon's Mill. Mr. Hyer served his country in the war of the Rebellion in Company K, Thirty-fourth Massachusetts Regiment and participated in the battles of Petersburg, Lynchburg and Piedmont, in the last of which he was wounded and taken prisoner and passed eleven months in Andersonville prison. He was under fifteen years old when he enlisted. He is a Republican.
