He engaged in business for a few years in New Haven and Albany before the breaking out of the war, when he enlisted in the Albany Light Infantry. During the war the regiment was known as the 177th N.Y.S. Vols. Mr.Lintner was brevetted major for gallant service at the siege and capture of Port Hudson. In 1864 he came to Little Falls and embarked on the drug and grocery business, in which he made a great success, and through which he acquired considerable wealth. For several years he was assistant adjutant-general on the staff of General Priest, and also filled other important offices. He died July 11, 1892.
