His grandfather, Peter, was second lieutenant in the Revolutionary war, under Captain Fox, and participated at Oriskany, after which he settled in this town upon 200 acres of land. William P. Loucks' father (also named Peter) was a justice of the peace for forty years in Manheim, and town clerk for twenty-two years. Mr. Loucks himself has held the offices of assessor three years, commissioner of highways one term, inspector of elections, constable, etc. He married Ann Kelley, and they have had three sons and two daughters.
