A grandfather of Marvin was a captain in the patriot army, and was killed at Herkimer. Henry I., father of the subject, was a native of Minden, and followed his trade of merchant tailoring, combined with agricultural pursuits, until his death. Marvin owns a farm of 137 acres in Danube, is engaged in the wholesale bottling business, putting up cider, lager and cider vinegar, for a trade which extends throughout Herkimer county. St. Johnsville, etc. Mr. Walrath married Cordelia Ingersoll, and they have five children, four sons and a daughter.
