He spent two and one-half years in Russia and subsequently came to America in 1879. He worked in a rolling mill in Michigan, and for eight and one-half years in the Remington Gun Works. He has lived in Ilion twelve years. He is proprietor of the Commercial Hotel. In 1870 Mr. Mitchell married Miss Mary J. Cheetham. Mr. Mitchell's father, John C.
