Author: Hardin & Willard

Newth, Walter S., Litchfield, owns a grain, dairy and fruit farm of 100 acres, 
and is one of the representative farmers of the town. He was born on his 
present farm June 13, 1848, and married Clara P., daughter of Roderick H. 
Smith, a native of Frankfort, and a son of Asel Smith, who came from 
Connecticut.  Walter S. is a son of John Newth, a native of England, who 
settled on this farm in 1837. He died September 8, 1881.  Walter S. and Clara 
P. Newth have one son, Fred H., who lives at home.
