It was used as a cheese factory by Chester Northrup, who was succeeded by a stock company of the farmers. They sold out to James Ashpole, and he sold to the present owner, N. B. Palmer, who has owned it up to the present time. He owns a dairy and grain farm of ninety-five acres, formerly owned and occupied by Erastus Miller. It is a very productive and well managed farm. N. B. Palmer was born May 30, 1843, in this town. He married Harriet Smith, and they have two children : Lena M. and Earl N. They have lost one son, Benjamin R., who died October 27, 1876, aged two years and six months. N. B. Palmer is a son of Solon L. He was a son of Leonard Palmer, all of this town.
