He was first employed as a farm hand but soon struck out for himself and with great success. To-day he owns a fine farm of 175 acres and thirty milch cows. He rents the farm out and lives in a snug house of his own in Fairfield village. Mr. Parkinson married Charlotte Herringshaw in 1843 and they have two children, George and Mrs. Alfred Childs.
