He then clerked for some time, and afterwards went into partnership with J. A. Chappell, the firm being known as Chappell & Ross, but at the end of seven years the partnership was dissolved, Mr. Ross starting for himself, which he still continues. He is a member of the official board of the Methodist church, a Mason passed up the to the commandery, and a member of the A.O.U.W. He ran for supervisor of the town in 1888, but was defeated.
