Author: Hardin & Willard

Scriber, G.H., German Flats, was born in Oswego county August 8, 1837, and has 
been in the clothing business all his life.  His father was George Scriber, 
and his grandfather was one of the old Mohawk Dutch.  His mother was also of 
the same origin.  Mr. Scriber is a Mason, a member of the Royal Arcanum, the 
A.O.U.W. and the Baptist church.  He has been treasurer of the village and 
school trustee.  In 1888 he married Miss Margaret Hotaling of this place.
