The Selcers are of German descent, having settled in this country early in this present century. John Selcer, sr., married Agnes M. Lowrie of New York State, and they reared a family of seven children. John Selcer, jr., has successfully conducted the merchant tailoring establishment since his father's death, being now the accredited leader in this line of industry in this village, and town. He married Josephine Boyer.
