Grantor: Stephen Carpenter Grantee: Sheffield Kinyon This Indenture made the Eight day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fourteen between Stephen Carpenter of the town of Fairfield county of Herkimer and State of New York of the first part and Sheffield Kinyon of said Fairfield of the other part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for the consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars Lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby Confessed and acknowledged Hath remised released and Quit Claim unto the said party of the second part in his actual possession and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain piece of Land in Lot number thirty five in the second allotment of the Royal Grant in said Fairfield Bounded follows beginning at the Mill Stream on the East side of the highway near the bridge thence Southerly by said Highway to the Land belonging to the heirs of the late Jonathon Card deceased thence Easterly by said Land to the Land belonging Robert Hinchman or the said Mill Lot, Thence Northerly by said Lot to the mill stream thence down said stream to the first mentioned bounds containing one acre of Land be the same more or less Together with all singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revertion and revertions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the right title and interest and claim or demand whatsoever of him the said party of the first part Either in Law or Equity of in and to the said above bargained premises, Excepting and reserving to the said party of the first part the priveledge of taking stone from said premises sufficient for the use of the buildings now erected and hereafter to be created on the Land now owned by the said party of the first part and to his heirs. To have and to hold every part and parcel thereof to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever And I Nancy Carpenter wife of the said Stephen Carpenter for the same Consideration paid to my husband do set over and Quit Claim to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all my right of Dower and power of thirds in the above mentioned and bargained premises – In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first written Stephen Carpenter Nancy Carpenter Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of John Comins Phebe Carpenter Herkimer County ss: On the 4th day of April 1814 before me Westel Willoughby Junr one of the Judges of Herkimer Com Pleas came Stephen Carpenter & Nancy his wife known to me and the said Stephen acknowledged he executed the within Deed and Nancy his wife being by me examined separate and apart from her husband, also acknowledged she executed the same freely without any fear or compulsion whatsoever having examined said Deed & finding no material errors therein I do allow the same to be recorded – Westel Willoughby Jun.
