Kinyon This Indenture Made the twelth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight Between Sheffield Kinyon and Adah his wife of the town of Fairfield County of Herkimer and State of New York of the first part and Lyman S. Kinyon of the same place of the second part Witnesseth. That the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand Dollars lawful money of the United States to him on hand paid by the said party of the second part have granted bargained, sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain sell unto the said party of the second part in his actual possession now being and to his heirs and assigns forever All that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the town of Fairfield in the County of Herkimer being a port of Lot No. six in the first allotment of the Royal Grant bounded as follows Beginning on the southwest corner of land belonging to Varnum S. Kinyon on the bank of the west Canada Creek thence down said creek to the south west corner of said Lot No. six thence east along the south line of said lot to the centre of the highway thence east parallel with the south line of William H. Gordon’s land forty rods thence northerly parallel with the east line of said Gordon’s land twenty four rods thence westerly forty rods to the line of the highway thence northerly along the highway fourteen rods to the land belonging to Varnum S. Kinyon thence westerly to the place of beginning Also one other piece of land being a part of said Lot No. six bounded as follows Beginning thirteen and half rods from the north east corner of land belonging to John Wood on the highway thence northerly along said highway twenty eight and half rods to the south east corner of William Vantz’s land thence westerly along the south line of said William’s land to the west Canada Creek thence down said creek forty one rods to a certain button wood tree marked L.R. on the north side and S.R. on the south side thence easterly twenty nine and half rods to the centre of the highway the place of beginning Containing fourteen acres of land be the same more or less excepting two acres of land and of the above described premises heretofore sold to William H. Gordon by the said party of the first part reference being had to said Deed. To have and to hold the said above described premises to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs executors and administrators do promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns the above bargained premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against any person claiming the whole or any part of the above described premises will forever Warrant and defend. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Sheffield Kinyon Adah Kinyon Signed sealed and delivered in presence of William Griswold the word forty was erased before the signing of this instrument in the eleventh line from top is the word said, in the sixteenth line from the top was interlined before the signing and sealing of this instrument and also the word Deed, in the ninth line from bottom Wm H. Gordon State of New York Herkimer County ss. On the fifteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight before me William H. Gordon, a commissioner for acknowledging Deeds &c came Sheffied Kinyon and Adah his wife both known to me and the said Sheffield acknowledged he executed the within deed and the said Adah being by me examined separate and apart from her husband acknowledged she executed the same freely without any fear or compulsion of her said husband let it be recorded Wm H.
