Reid This Indenture made this thirteenth day of March in the year One thousand eight hundred and thirty four, between Daniel Nolton of Fairfield in the County of Herkimer and Catherine his wife of the first part and Alexander H. Buell and Varnum S. Kinyon of the same place of the second part Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part in consideration of the sum of three thousand one hundred dollars to them duly paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have sold and by these presents do grant and convey unto the said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns forever, all that certain piece or parcel of land situate in the town of Schuyler it being lot number four in great lot number nine in Hassencleaver’s Patent, bounded as follows, beginning at the south east corner of Lot number two of the subdivision of said Great Lot number nine at a stake eight links south west from a small beech tree cornered and marked 1.2.3.4. and runs from thence along marked lines of the eastern bounds of the said lot number two north thirty two degrees and fifteen minutes east fifty chains and sixty links to a stake fifteen links northwest from a Basswood tree cornered and marked 2.4. thence along the southern bounds of Great Lot number eight of the said subdivision south fifty five degrees east twenty chains to a stake and stones on the south side of the road thence south thirty two degrees and fifteen minutes and fifty chains and thirty links to the northeast corner of Lot number three, thence along the north bounds of said Lot number three north fifty five degrees and fifteen minutes west twenty chains to the place of beginning containing one hundred acres three roods of land, be the same more or less. The above courses are as the magnetic needle pointed in the year 1800 and the boundaries are the same as described in the deed thereof to the said Daniel Nolton. And also all that certain other piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in Schuyler aforesaid being Lot number six of the subdivision of Great Lot number nine in Hassencleavers patent bounded as follows Viz: Beginning at the south east corner of Lot number four of said subdivision at a small rock maple cornered tree marked 3.4.5.6 standing on the south side of a Brook and thence along marked lines north thirty two degrees fifteen minutes east fifty chains thirty links to a stake and stones on the south side of the road; thence along the bounds of Great Lot number eight south fifty five degrees east twenty chains to a stake and stone on the south side of the road; thence south thirty two degrees fifteen minutes west fifty chains twenty links to the north east corner of lot number five in said subdivision to a birch corner tree marked 5.6.7.8, thence north fifty five degrees fifteen minutes west twenty chains to the place of beginning containing one hundred and half acres of land be the same more or less. The courses are as the magnetic needle pointed in the year 1801, the boundaries are the same as described in the deed to the said Daniel Nolton, together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the estate, title and interest in and to the several pieces of land above described of the said parties of the first part. And the said Daniel Nolton does hereby covenant and agree to and with the said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns, that the premises above conveyed I the quiet and peaceable possession of the said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns he will forever warrant and defend against every person whomsoever. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Daniel Nolton Catherine Nolton Sealed and delivered in presence of Jas W. Borden. Herkimer County ss. On this the 13th day of March 1834, before me appeared Daniel Nolton and Catherine Nolton his wife to me know to be the individuals described in and who executed the within instrument and acknowledged that they had severally executed the same and the said Catherine Nolton on a private examination apart from her husband acknowledges that she executed the same freely and without any fear or compulsion of her said husband James W.
