CROFOOT WAS ACTIVE IN COUNTY GRANGES Local Woman Will Be Buried Tomorrow After Rites at Reformed Church; Relatives Bearers. The funeral of Mrs. Henry A Crofoot, who died in the Herkimer Memorial hospital Thursday night, after a brief illness, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the Reformed church, Rev. Tunis W. Prins officiating. Sons of the deceased and a brother-in-law Robert Crofoot of Clinton Heights, will be the bearers. Mrs. Crofoot was born Aug. 16, 1866, in Fairfield and was a daughter of Peter and Caroline Kilts. She attended the Fairfield Seminary. On March 4, 1885, she was married to Mr. Crofoot. After his death in 1925 she came from Fairfield to Herkimer to reside. The deceased was active in the Grange and in Civic undertakings. She was a charter member of the Little Falls Grange and of Herkimer county Pomana Grange. She was a member of the Old Yellow church in the town of Manheim and attended the Reformed church of this village. Mrs. Crofoot was of Revolutionary ancestry, being a six-bar member of Col. Astenrogen DAR Chapter, Little Falls. Most of her life was spent in Herkimer county. Surviving are five sons; Herman Crofoot, farming and lumber expert, Moravia; Clarence, head of the technical department of the Mount Pleasant high school, Schenectady; Harry, head of the industrial arts department of the high school in Newark, N. Y.; James, research engineer of the Cooperative GLF Farm Supplies, Ithaca; and Howard, an inspector of Remington Rand Inc., Ilion; one daughter, Florence, head dietician of the girls' dormitories of Balch Halls, Ithaca; two granddaughters and two grandsons. Mrs. Crofoot also leaves a sister, Mrs. Carrie K. Thompson of St. Johnsville. Interment is to be made in Oak Hill cemetery.
