SURROGATES COURT
 
The Last Will and Testament of  PHILLIP DENNIE   deceased
 
 Be it Remembered, That heretofore, to wit: on this 11th day of April in the
year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and ninety one    Romaine S.
Dennie and Olive C  Cowles both of Adams Jefferson County & both of full age
and who are all of the rest of heirs & heirs of  ?law?  Execute(blurred) named
in the last will and Testament of Phillip Dennie late of the town of Adams in
the county of Jefferson, deceased, apppeared in open court before the
Surrogate of the county of Jefferson and made application to have the said
last Will and Testament of (?????) Phillip Dennie deceased which related to
both Real and Personal Estate proved: and on such application the Surrogate
did ascertain by satisfactory evidence who were the heirs at law and next of
kin of the said testator, and their respective residences, and they are as
follows, viz:    (blank)

and said Surrogate did thereupon issue a citation in due form of law, directed
to the heirs at law and next of kin by their respective names and requiring
them to appear before said Surrogate at his office in the City of Watertown,
in said County on the _____day of ____A.D. 189__, to attend the Probate of
said Will and afterwards, to wit: on the ___day of ____a.D. 189__ satisfactory
evidence by affidvit was produced and presented to said Surrogate, of the
service of said citation in the mode prescribed by law, and on that day, no
one appearing to oppose the Probate of such Will such proceedings were
thereupon had in said court afterwards, that the said Surrogate took the
proofs of said Will hereinafter set forth upon this 11th day of April A.D.
1891 and he thereupon adjudged the sid Will to be a valid Will of Real and
Personal Estate, and the proofs thereof to sufficent, which said Last Will and
Testament and proofs are hereinafter recorded in this book.

PHILLIP DENNIE'S ESTATE
   & WILL
 
Last Will and Testament
 
I  PHILLIP DENNIE of the town of Adams, Jefferson Co. NY of age 65 years do
make, ordain, publish and declair this my last Will and Testament in manner
and form following that is to say
 
First
I direct the payment of my just debts if any and my funeral expenses.
 
Second
I direct my executor hereinafter appointed to purchase and have erected upon
my lot in Rural Cemetary a Monument to cost not less than One Hundred and
Fifty Dollars as soon as practicable after my decease and to pay for the same
from the Real estate
 
Third
I give and bequeath unto my son Romaine S Dennie all the Horses Stockand
Farming Utensils upon my farm of every kind to have the same to his own use
and benefit absolute.
 
Fourth
And Lastly, All the rest and residue of my estate both Real and Personal I
give and bequeath unto my son Romaine S and my daughter Olive C. Cowles to be
equally divided between them to share and share alike in  ?fer? & After my
debts are pay from the same , and a Note is paid signed by me for my daughter
, which I charge the payment against her legacy in the Real Estate said not
was about $230 # and may have been given to her husband Frank Cowles. 
Likewise I make constitute and appoint Louis & Fish with full power to deed
and transfer all property, or its ?somy?  ?get? is the premises to be executor
of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me
made.
 
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the
Seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety One.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Philip Dennie in one
presence and acknowledged by him to each of use and he at the same time
declared the above instrument so subscribed to his last Will and Testament
and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other,
here sign as witnessess  thereto
