D. H. Fletcher, H. S. Elmore to Mrs. E. A. Hutchins, both of this city. The above marriage notice, which has just appeared in one or two newspapers, contains the sequel to the Elmore divorce suit, which was recently a topic of interest in Brooklyn. A week ago last Sunday Mr. H. S. Elmore, who was formerly a trustee of Talmage's Tabernacle, was publicly announced from the pulpit as having been excommunicated, the sessions of the church having found him guilty of gross immorality. The suit of Mrs. Elmore for absolute divorce was decided in Monroe County only a few days before the date of the above marriage, and the decree forbade Henry S. Elmore to remarry while the first wife was still alive. The bride in this second marriage was the person incriminated with Mr. Elmore in the divorce proceedings. Mr. Elmore is a well-to-do grain merchant, at 70 Moore street in this city, and he lived at 46 South Oxford street, Brooklyn, being a neighbor of his pastor, the Rev. T. De Witt Talmage. They were formerly intimate friends.
