Michael Hoffman. -- Michael Hoffman died on Wednesday afternoon, 27th ult., at his residence, in Brooklyn, N.Y., after a somewhat long and painful illness. Mr. Hoffman was one of the ablest men of the State, and was esteemed as one of the ablest men of the State, and was esteemed as one of the most valuable that had ever held a seat in the Legislature. -- He came to New York city from Herkimar county, which he had only represented in the Legislature, in Congress, in the Convention which framed the present State Constitution. -- He was a decided partizan of the school of Samuel Young and Silas Wright, and one of the Free Soil Democracy, to which, though an officer under Polk and in daily danger of removal, he was firmly devoted. He died at the age of sixty. Additional Comments: The Hannibal Journal was published at Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri.
