That your petitioner is desirous of becoming a citizen of the United States of America, and is willing to conform to the act of Congress passed upon that subject the 14th day of April 1802; entitled "An act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject," and the several acts in addition thereto; Wherefore your petitioner humbly prays this Honorable Court to admit him a citizen as aforesaid, on complying with the requisition of the act aforesaid, and your Petitioner, as in duty bound, shall ever pray. Paris and Patrick Banon of the town of Harrisburgh being duly sworn, say, that they are severally acquainted with Henry Yule late of Scotland in the Kingdom of Great Britain but now of the County of Lewis and that the said Henry Yule has resided within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States, between the 30th day of November 1846 and the 1st day of December 1851 and has continued to reside therein ever since, and that such his residence within the United States, has been at least Five Years now last past, and at least One Year now last past, within the state of New York, and that during all the time aforesaid, he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Paris Harrison Burnes/Barnes, Clerk I, Henry Yule do solemnly swear in the presence of the Almighty God, that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and that I absolutely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince potentate, state and sovereignty whatsoever, particularly the Government of Great Britain of whom I was before a subject. Henry Yule Being duly sworn before Lucian Clark Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of said county, saith he was born in Scotland that he is of the age of forty nine years; that he owes allegiance to the Queen of Great Britain that he emigrated from the port of Annan to the City of New York in the county of New York in the State of New York, on the month of November 1837 that he now resides in the town of Harrisburgh in said county of Lewis, where he ha settled and intends to reside, and that it is bona fide the intention of this deponent to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to any and every foreign prince potentate, state, and sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly the Postentatuity the Queen of Great Britain. Subscribed and sworn before me, this 19th day of February 1849.
