Ratigan Ex-roofing Official William L. Ratigan, 60 formerly secretary of W. J. Grinder Roofing Co. Inc. at 58 Henrietta St., died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Canandaigua. Ratigan, a Navy veteran of World War 2, had been a patient in the Canandaigua hospital five years. He joined the roofing company in 1946. Before the war, Ratigan had worked at Ritter Co. and pitched on the Ritter Team that won a city industrial league softball championship in 1942. Ritter now is a division of Sybron Corp. The family said Ratigan helped organize and manage the Dutchtown Merchants softball team in the 1960s. He was a railroad buff and a fan of Rochester Red Wings baseball team. Monroe County newspaper.
