I, Adolphus Aldrich considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of much mind and meory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit: First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Jane Aldrich all my household furniture, beds and bedding, also one house buggy and harness avitable for her years and condition in life and all to be entirety at her own control and disposal. Second, all the rest and residue of my personal estate (after the payment of my just debts and funeal expenses and the expense of selling my estate), I give and bequeath unto my son Solomon A. Aldrich and my daughter, Margaret E. Aldrich, he to have two thirds and she one third of the same. Third, I give and devise one equal undivided third part of all my real estate to my said beloved wife jane Aldrich to hold to her for and during her natural life, and after her decease, the same to go to my said children Solomon A. Aldrich and Margaret E. Aldrich, he taking two thirds and she one third. The real estate which I now own consists of my homestead farm situate on lot number three in said town of Perinton & containing one hundred and twenty acres, and about sixteen acres of land situtate on lot number ten in said town of Perinton & known as "the timbered lot" I wish it distinctly understood that the legacies above given to my beloved wife one considered to be in lieu instead of dower in which she is by law entitled. Fourth, All the rest residue of my said real estate consisitng of two thirds I give and devise to my said son Solomon A. Aldrich and my said daughter Margaret E. Aldrich their heirs and assigns forever. Two thirds to go to my said soon and one third to my said daughter. It is further my will that my three grandchildren now with me to wit Charles a. Potter, Wallace W. Potter and John V. D. Potter children of my deceased daughter Celinda S. Potter shall be provided for, maintained and educated until they shall arrive at the age of fourteen years, at the expense of my said son Solomon A. Aldrich and my said daughter Margaret E. Aldrich, my said son Solomon paying two thirds and my said daughter Margaret one third of the same and further it is my will that when the three grand children named, together with their sisters and brothers, Sarah Jane Potter and Albert Eugene Potter shall arrive at the age of twenty one years respectively then each of them be paid the sum of one hundred dollars by my son Solomon A. and my daughter Margaret E. two thirds to be paid by my said son & one third by my said daughter. Fifthly, lastly I do hereby appoint my beloved wife Jane Aldrich and my son Solomon A. Aldrich executrix and executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto fixed my hand and seal the twelvth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five.
