Aldridge of Rochester died: 26 Dec 1877, Rochester probated 5 Mar 1878 In the Name of God, Amen I, Sarah Ann Aldridge, of the City of Rochester, County of Monroe & State of New York, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, that is to say: First, After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give and bequeath to my daughter Adelaide S. Brady 1 Mahongany Extention table 1 Kitchen table, 1 Hair cloth sofa 1 crooked couch 1 Book case of mahogany and all the books therein 6 Dining room chairs, good & 4 poorer ones 6 picture Engravings 1 Mahogany bureau 1 Diing room looking glass, 6 large silver spoons now marked Aldridge 6 silver tea spoons marked Aldridge, 1 set of waiters 1 large Clock, 1 wire safe, 1 Doz. Silver forks. Second, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary A. Ayres 6 Hair Cloth sofa chairs, 1 tete-a tete, 1 large Rocking chair, 1 eassy chair, 1 Brussels carpet, 1 gilt framed looking glass & marble slab therewith belonging, 1 whatnot, 1 Small Clock, 1 Silver ladle, all the tea spoons marked "S.A.A.", all my crockery. Third, I give and bequeath to my daughter Lura E. Aldridge, 1 Bed room set, composed of Bed stead, mattrasses, Bureau, Commode and bedding for same, 1 Mahogany Centre Table, 1 Small hair cloth Rocking chair, 1 Piano and Music stand thereto belonging Six large Table spoons marked "S.A.A." allthe sea spoons marked "S.A.L." 1 Castor, 9 Photographs & frames, 1 cluster diamond Ring. Fourth, I give and bequeath to my my son Walter S. Aldridge 1 Bed room sett composed of Bed stead, mattrasses, Commode, 1 fall leaf stand, 1 Gilt framed looking glass, 2 Photographs of his Sister, Adelia & brother-in-law Charles Brady framed in gilt & one Solatair Diamond Ring. Fifth, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah E. Aldridge, 1 Hair Mattrass & Pillows to match, 1 Bureau Mahogany, 1 Marble top stand, 1 green rocking chair, 1 Feather Bed, 1 Lamp, 3 large Silver Spoons & 2 broken silver spoons, 1 cream spoon, 1 sugar spoon tongs, 1 butter knife, 1 mustard spoon, 2 salt spoons, 2 oil Paintings & frames, 2 Photographs (1 of my father & 1 of my mother) in frames, 1 gold bracelet. Sixth, I hereby give and bequeath to my two daughters Adelia and Lura & to my son Walter, One thousand dollars each now in the hands of my brother F. W. Lay and to my daughter Sarah, one thousand dollas, now in the hands of my son-in-law Charles A. Brady, and the remaining one thousand dollars now in the hands of the said Charles Brady is to be paid upon my decease to my son Walter and from and with it he is to defray the expenses of my funeral and such other small charges as may be against my Estate, and the balance of said last named thousand dollars remaining in his hands shall be equally divided between the daughter of the said Mary A. Ayres (Whose name is Mary F. Ayres) and the son of my daughter Adelia S. Brady, whose name is Charles A. Brady Jr.) Seventh, I hereby give and bequeath to my said son Walter S. Aldridge all my personal property not hereinbefore disposed of, and I do hereby bequeath and devise to my said son Walter S. Aldridge all my land and real estate wherever or wheresoever the same may be situate except my homestead on the corne of Lake venue & Brisbane Street he is to have & to hold the absolute title thereto in all respects to the same extent that he would if the same had been by me conveyed to him by a good and sufficent Warranty Deed thereof. Eighth, I hereby give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah E. Aldridge the sum of one thousand dollars to be paid to her upon her arriving at the age of twenty one years, provided she shall thereupon rleease and quitclaim to Walter S. Aldridge aofresaid, all her right, title & interest in and to the Estate of her father Albert Aldridge now deceased, and I hereby make, the said thousand dollars a charge upon and against the land and real estate herein devised and bequeathed to him, but the same shall not continue to be such charge, lien or incumbrance upon or against said land and real estate after the first day of August 1882 and the payment of the said one thousand dollars to the said Sarah E. Aldridge shall be paid by said Walter S. Aldridge from the part and property hereby bequeathed & devised to him. Ninth, I give and bequeath to each of my heirs (being my five children above named) the proceeds of the land & premises known as my homestead on the south west corne rof Lake Avenue & Brisbane Streets in the City of Rochester New York, the same to be divided between them equally share & share alike, afterthe sale thereof, and I hereby authorize my said Executor hereinafter named to sell and convey any and all of my real estate for the best price he can obtain for the same. Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my said son Walter S. Aldridge to be Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the Seventh day of June in the year of our Lord one thosuand eight hundred and seventy seven. Sarah A. Aldridge L.S. The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Sarah A. Aldridge in our presence, and acknowledge by her to each of us: and she at the same time declared the above instrument, so subscribed, to be her last Will and Testament: and we, at her request, have signed our names as witnesses hereto, in her presence and in the presence of each other, and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.
