I Giles Burritt of the Town of Parma County of Monroe and State of New York being of sound mind and memory do make publish & declare my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I direct my Executors to pay my just debts & financial charges as soon after my decease as may be Second I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth Burritt the use during her natural life of my home farm where I now reside in the Town of Parma aforesaid containing about ninety acres of land I also give and bequeath unto my said Wife all the household furniture Beds & Bedding & Wearing apparel I own or possess and also the use during her nataural Life of one Span of Horses Waggon and harness, Three cows and ten Sheep and all the farming tools I own or possess also hay grain & other fodder sufficient to keep said stock until grass comes sufficient to live upon. I also give her two hogs and provisions sufficient for her own use for one year Third I give and bequeath unto my son Giles Burritt nine hundred Dollars and also the Buggy he now has and for which I paid & one horse Fourth I give and bequeath unto my Son Baily Burritt two hundred dollars to make the sum heretofore advanced to him to be equal to what I have advanced to my other Sons Fifth I give and bequeath unto my Grand Son Giles Burritt Son of my Son William one hundred dollars to be paid to him when he arrives at the age of twenty one years Fifth [sixth?] I give and bequeath unto my Son William the debt I have against him for money paid for him amounting to about one thousand dollars this will be equal to the sum I have advanced to each of other children Seventh After the decease of my said Wife Elizabeth I give and bequeath the household furniture then left to my daughters to be divided equally between them. I have heretofore advanced unto my said Daughters each one thousand dollars which I consider their share of my said property and if my said wife chooses she may divide some part of said household furniture between my said daughters during her life time Eighth As to the rest residue and remainder of my property of every name and kind i give and bequeath & devise the same unto my Sons William, Bailey, Seely, Sylvester, Stephen, Thomas & Giles to be divided equally between them share and share alike . All that part of my said property not given to my said wife and not needed to pay the specified Legacies herein named to be divided as soon aster my decease as may be, and that part the use of which is herein given to my said wife to be divided between my said Sons as soon after the decease of my said wife as may be done without sacrifice One hundred dollars to be taken from Williams share and paid to Bailey on a debt he owes him My will and desire is that my Son Giles Burritt should live with his mother and carry on the farm for her upon shares or otherwise if they can agree to live together, but if they cannot agree to live together my said Wife is at liberty to let the farm to any one else at her pleasure Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint Baily Burritt & John E Paterson Executors of this my last Will and teatament hereby expressly revoking all former will by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 24th day of January 1854 Giles Burritt Signed published and declared by the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presenve of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness Johnson Servis Cyrus Amidon Both witnesses reside in Parma Monroe County NY
