Blessed be the Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament. 1st .. I direct and empower my executors to sell all my estate, both real and personal, and out of the proceeds of such sale to pay and discharge all my just debts ~ and of the remainder after paying my debts I dispose of in manner following ~ I do give and bequeath to my son Peter S., nine hundred dollars I also give and bequeath to my son Robert, five hundred dollars I also give and bequeath to my son Thomas, five hundred dollars I also give and bequeath to my son Walter, three hundred dollars I also give and bequeath to my daughter Caroline, wife of Emerey Russell, four hundred Dollars I also give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth, five hundred dollars In consideration of the long services of my daughter Elizabeth, I also give and bequeath to her all my household furniture, provided that upon the sale of my estate, and after discharging my debts, the sum remaining shall amount to three thousand one hundred dollars. And, if upon such sale, and such sum remains, shall more or less than three thousand one hundred dollars, then I direct that the said whole sum so remaining shall be so apportioned among my children, that each of their portions shall be in the same proportion to the said whole sum so remaining as I have made each of their portions to ba-- to the sum of three thousand one hundred dollars. I have contemplated in making these several bequests to my children to compensate them for services rendered to me since they have become of age and direct that such bequests shall be taken in consideration of such services. And, I direct that if any of them shall make, set up or urge any claim for services rendered to me, he or she shall be entirely cut off and deprived of the portion I have intimated to have given him or her in this will. I do nominate and appoint my son Peter S. Harkness and my friend Spencer Smith of Riga to be executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made ~ In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and published and decreed this to be my last will and testament.
