NY Will Book Vol 66, P 532 Written: July 13 1900 Recorded: July 5 1901 Record of Will Last Will and Testament of Clara I. DeVos, of Rochester, in the County of Monroe, and State of New York. I, the said Clara I. DeVos,being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following - That is to say: First, I direct my Executors, hereinafter named, to pay all my debts as soon as may be practicable after my decease; also the funeral expenses. After the fulfillment of the foregoing provision, I direct my Executors to pay to the Cirmissioners or Trustees of Mt. Hope Cemetary the sum of Fifty Dollars the income of which is to be used for keeping in good order and condition that portion of the lot in said Cemetary in which my husband is buried, and which is retained for my burial. I also direct my Executors to erect on my grave a stone to correspond to that now standing at my husband's grave, the cost of which shall not exceed the sum of one hundred (100) dollars. To my niece Clara Stone Cotter, I give my diamond ring To my niece, Addie Stone Saussy, I give one of my diamond earrings To my niece, Effie LaTrace Southard, I give the other diamond earring; and I direct my Executors to have the jewels in the ring and earrin ngs named above re-set according to the wishes of the legatees. To my niece, Catharine A. Angell, I give my diamond pin, and to each of my nieces and nephews named below, I give the sum of one hundred and fifty (150) dollars in cash: Mabel J. Angell, George H. Angell, William G. Angell, Arthur C. Turpin and Mortimer Turpin. I give to my brother Andrew S. Angell one half of my burial lot in Mt. Hope Cemetary, said half being on the south side of the lot, and not that part on which a tree now stands; and to my sister Catherine H. LaTrace I give one-half of the remaining portion of said lot, this being the northwest quarter of the lot where her husband is now buried; and the remainder of my property, real and personal, in whatever form, after the foregoing provisions of this will shall have been executed, and excepting my personal effects and furniture herinafter named, I give and bequeath as follows: to my brothers and sisters named herewith or their children: Andrew S. Angell, one fifth; Cecelia A. Turpin, one-fifth; Catherine H. LaTrace, one-fifth; Harriet A. Stone, one-fifth; and the remaining one-fifth to be divided equally between my nephew, George H. Angell, and my niece, Mabel J. Angell, who are heirs to my late brother, George R. Angell, and whom I wish to share the fifth part of my remaining estate that would have fallen to him had he survived me. And in case of the death of Andrew S. Angell, or Catherine H. LaTrace, or Cecelia A. Turpin or Harriet A. Stone before receiving his or her one-fifth of such remainder of my estate, I order that the share of the deceased parent shall be divided equally between his or her children surviving, share and share alike. And I hereby direct my Executors to divide equally between my brothers and sisters and their children any personal effects not before directly named, such as furniture, clothing, jewels and ornaments I may die possessed of. I hereby name and appoint G. Clarke Southard of Rochester, NY and Arthur C. Turpin of Rochester, NY as the executors of this my last Will and Testament, and as trustees to carry out the provisions thereof, and I do give them full power and authority to sell or convey, lease or mortgage any real estate I may die possessed of, and to invest any funds which may come into their hands as Executors pending the settlement of my estate, as heretofore provided. I also direct that no security or bond shall be required of said Executors or Trustees, and the remainder of my estate shall be divided as soon as possible after my decease, and no unnecessaary delay shall be made in the settlement, as provided. Hereby revoking any will at any time hertofore made, I declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name, the 13th day of July, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred. Clara I.
