I give and bequeath to my son Thompson Burton the sum of six hundred dollars such sum being due to him from me on the sale of certain Brooklyn Lots in which he had an equitable interest to be paid him within one year from my death with interest from the day of my death and the further sum of Four Hundred Dollars-- I give and bequeath to my daughter Harriet Jameson wife of Daniel Jameson my fall leaf mahogany table and also my large looking glass now in the house where I reside and the sum of one thousand dollars-- All the rest and residue of my property both real and personal I direct my Executor to place into seven equal shares and I devise and bequeath the same as follows, to Thompson Burton, Morgan Burton, Leonard Burton, and Harriet Jameson wife of Daniel Jameson my sons and daughter each one share or one seventh of the whole and to my grand children, children of my son Winslow deceased one share and to my granddaughter Harriet daughter of my daughter Marcia Ann deceased one share and to my granddaughter Celia Christman wife of Mortimer Christman one share but such bequest and devise to the children of my son Winslow is subject to the following deductions and reservations. I have heretofore advanced to said children of said Winslow the sum of fourteen hundred dollars by the purchase of a house and lot in the villagte of Burtonville and I direct my Executor herein to deduct from said one share so hereinbefore devised and bequeathed to said children of said Winslow said sum of fourteen hundred dollars with interest from the date of my death and I further direct that said sum of fourteen hundred dollars and interest as aforesaid shall be equally divided among the seven shares as hereinbefore provided so that said children of said Winslow shall receive one seventh thereof. [The following has been crossed out but I include it here] And said share so bequeathed and devised to my said granddaughter Celia Christman shall be subject to the following deductions and reservations to wit: the sum of fifty dollars to be paid to my grandson Leonard Burnes and I direct my Executor to pay said Leonard Burnes said sum of fifty dollars after said Celia shall have first received from her paid share the sum of five hundred dollars and not otherwise. I further direct that in no case shall the children of said Winslow be required to pay back said sum of fourteen hundred dollars so advanced as aforesaid on any part thereof--There is now an encumbrance on said lot purchased for the children of Winslow as aforesaid by way of mortgage in about the sum of two hundred dollars and which I intend to pay so that said lot shall be free from incumbrances but should I fai to do so my Executor is directed to make said payment out of my estate-- I hereby direct and empower my Executor to sell and convey any and all real estate I may own at the time of my death and give goods and sufficient deeds and conveyances thereof and to carry out and complete any and all contracts for the sale of real estate which I may have made and entered into and especially a contract made by me with my son-in-law Daniel Jameson and to give good and sufficient deed or deeds and conveyances of said real estate as in such contracts by me agreed on. I hereby nominate and appoint my son Thompson Burton the sole Executor of this my last will and testament and I hereby revoke all other wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of June in the year 1873.
