In the name of God Amen. I Richard Dodge of the town of Johnstown, County of Montgomery _____ being of sound mind and memory do hereby make this my last will and testament thereby revoking all former wills heretofore made by me. 1) I hereby request that after my decease my body be buried in a decent and becoming manner adjoining the grave of my beloved wife. 2) To all and each of my beloved children and grand children I give my blessing. I desire them to hold me in kind rememberance and to live united in kindness and affection and interest. 3) To my daughter Elisa Romeyn I give one hundred dollars to be paid to her if living in one year after my decease by my Executrix hereinafter named. 4) To my beloved sons William and James and to my beloved daughters Jane Ann, Elisa and Helen I give and bequeath to each of them a ___________ being of the value of ten dollars each to be procured by my Executrix hereinafter named written three months after my decease. 5) Whereas I am indebted to my daughter Helen Dodge in addition to the kindness, care and attention which she has unremittingly bestowed on me for many years past in the pecuniary sum of six hundred and sixty four dollars and four cents and the interest thereon which sum was paid to me for her in the month of May 1818 by my brother in law Ebenezer Irving the Executor of William Irving and Sarah Irving the grandparents of my daughter Helen, and which descended to her as her proportion of the share of her mother's. 6) I do hereby give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Helen her heirs and assigns forever all my estate both real and personal in possession ______ and ________, and I do hereby appoint her sole Executrix of this my last will and testament. Be it remembered, that at a Surrogate Court held for the said County of Montgomery at the Surrogate's office in the Village of Johnstown in the said County, before Tobias A. Storstenburgh, Surrogate of the said County on this eighth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two, the last will and testament of Richard Dodge late of the said County, deceased, a copy whereof is hereunto annexed, was admitted to probate by the said Surrogate, after a citation to the next of kin to the said deceased, issued, served, returned and filed according to law and also after due and satisfactory proof having first been made of the circumstances of the execution, delivery and possession of the said will. Whereupon at the place and on the day aforesaid Richard H Cushny being present and duly sworn by the said Surrogate, testified that he saw the said Richard Dodge seal and execute the instrument shown unto him which said instrument purports to be the last will and testament of the said Richard Dodge deceased, and bears date the twenty fourth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty, that he heard the said Richard Dodge publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament, that at the time thereof the said Richard Dodge was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief that he subscribed his name to the said will as a witness to the execution thereof in the presence of and at the request of the said testator and that he at the same time saw William I. Dodge and John Bury subscribe their names to the said will as witnesses to the execution thereof also in the presence of and at the request of the said testator. Whereupon I the said Surrogate upon the proof aforesaid being satisfied of the genuineness and validity of the said will, order that the same be admitted to probate, and that letters testamentary thereon be granted after the expiration of thirty days. In testimony whereof I the said Surrogate have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of my office. Done at the village of Johnstown aforesaid, the day and year first aforesaid. Tobias A.
