June 25, 1891 Two Indictments Against Him for Abduction. New York, June 24. -- William B. Rhett, the young South Carolinian who was acquitted of criminal assault in the court of general sessions last night, was released from custody today. There are still two indictments pending against Rhett for abduction. On each of these he is held for $1,000 bail. He spent the night in Ludlow street jail, it being too late to furnish bail last night. It is generally believed in the sessions building that Rhett will never be called to answer for the alleged abductions.
