He was born in this city June 21, 1837, and was graduated from Columbia College in 1859, receiving his Master's Degree in 1861. Mr. Browning entered business in New York with his father, and was a partner of the original firm which later became Browning, King & Co. Mr. Browning retired from business about fifteen years ago, and for several years has been afflicted with blindness. During his retirement he had occupied himself with compiling a genealogy of his family. Mr. Browning is survived by a son, Edward West Browning, and a daughter Mrs. George P. Biggs.
