BOTCHMAN-Jay L., a resident of Las Vegas died on Saturday, July 31, 2004. He was 72 years old. Mr. Botchman was born on June 6, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Louis and Ruth. Mr. Botchman was a graduate of White Plains High School and resided in the area for 30 years. He served in the Navy on the USS Salem in the 50's and was a self-made business man in the Metropolitan area for 50 years. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Gibbons), his brother Allan & his nephews Bruce, Keith & Gary. Funeral services will be private in Las Vegas. Longtime member of the Rockaway Hunting Club, the Lawrence Beach Club, the Cedarhurst Yacht Club, the Harvard Club of New York, and the Brook Club. Avid supporter of the Seamen's Church Institute. He was a gentleman known for his charm and wit. Survivors include his wife; sons Alexander H. Whitman, of Seattle, WA, and Stephen V.R. Whitman, of Simsbury, CT; daughters Angelica Schuyler Whitman and Jennifer Whitman Foster, of Northampton, MA, and Sylvia Whitman, of Arlington, VA; and ten grandchildren.
