He was 84 years old, and for the past year had been living with his daughter and her family in Brooklyn Heights. He is survived by his wife, Aldine, who currently resides at Castle Senior Living in Brooklyn, NY; two daughters, Nancy HavensHasty of Brooklyn Heights, NY and Cynthia Gosline of Vancouver, British Columbia; and a sister, Marjorie Gilmore of Woodbridge, VA and four grandchildren: Andrew Gosline of Montreal, Anna Gosline of London, England, and Gardiner and Sam Hasty of Brooklyn Heights. Visitation takes place Thursday, July 1st 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Edwards & Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Avenue, Dobbs Ferry. A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. on Friday, July 2 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 600 Broadway, in Dobbs Ferry. A reception will follow at the Ardsley Country Club. Married sixty years to the late Catherine Tommins of Rockville Centre, NY. Served U.S. Army Air Corps, WW II, 1st Lt. Graduated Fordham University and St. John's Law, 1954. Director, Risk Management, Bristol Myers, NY 1962-1983. Resided Brightwaters, NY until 1983, then Melbourne, FL. Survived by sisters Jane Mahalic and Lois Seney and nine children: M.J. McManus, Oakton, VA, Diana Shertenlieb, Marietta, GA, Francis X. McCahill III, Martha McCahill, Bryan McCahill, Catherine McCahill, Thomas McCahill, Richard McCahill, all of Melborne, FL and James J. McCahill of Kinnelon, NJ; also 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rockledge, FL, June 29th.
