Dr. Carballeira was very proud of his Spanish heritage and will always be remembered as a physician who was devoted to his community, patients and family. He was decorated by King Juan Carlos I for his service to the Spanish Diplomatic community in the United States. He is survived by his loving wife Assunta (Sunny) (nee Rockicioli). Cherished father of Catherine, Joseph and Katie, Andrew and Margaret and Lita and Danny. Dearest brother of Amelia Abella and the late Robert.
