Dr. Carballeira was very proud of his Spanish heritage and will always be remembered as a physician who was devoted to his community, patients and family. He was decorated by King Juan Carlos I for his service to the Spanish Diplomatic community in the United States. He is survived by his loving wife Assunta (Sunny) (nee Rockicioli). Cherished father of Catherine, Joseph and Katie, Andrew and Margaret and Lita and Danny. Dearest brother of Amelia Abella and the late Robert. Age 79, died suddenly at home on June 11, 2004. Beloved wife of the late Edward B. McMenamin and sister of Barbara Greene and Britton Stitt. A graduate of the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry and Smith College, she was the Headmistress of the Nightingale-Bamford School from 1971 until her retirement in 1992. A trustee of Robert College of Istanbul, The Masters School and the Lawrenceville School, she was active in the Head Mistresses Association of the East, the Headmasters Association, the Country Day School Headmasters Association, and the National Association of Principals of Schools for Girls. It is with profound sadness that the Real Estate Institute at New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies mourns the loss of its esteemed colleague and friend, Michael F. X. Waters. As Director of Academic Affairs and Clinical Associate Professor for the Master of Science in Real Estate program, Mike has served the students, faculty, the real estate industry and the NYU community almost from the inception of the graduate program which began in 1989. His wisdom, kindness, integrity and generosity of spirit have touched all of us through the years. Our love and deepest sympathy are extended to Mike's wife, Peggy, and to his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
