Lawyer and activist, was born in 1917 and died in May, 2004 in New York City. A Brooklyn native, he served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He had a private law practice, worked on civil rights issues and launched a legal action against the Vietnam War. He represented draft resisters and volunteered with several organizations, including the National Lawyers Guild and the Board of the New York State Coalition of Concerned Legal Professionals, battling on behalf of farm workers and the working poor. He was an avid folk dancer and lived in New York, West Palm Beach and Spain. He is survived by his wife Sa-ard Fetner, his children Ernestine Stevenson, Lisa Fromartz, Bunji Fromartz and Samuel Fromartz, and four gran dchildren and five great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Published in the New York Times on 6/18/2004. Kuklin, Anthony Bennett KUKLIN-Anthony Bennett. An attorney and retired partner with Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton and Garrison, died on Monday, June 14, 2004 at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. The cause was a heart attack. He was 74 and lived in Larchmont, NY. A former president of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and a Division director of the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, he was a past Chairman of the Real Property Division of the International Bar Association. He was a governor of the Anglo-American Real Property Institute and a former Chairman of the Real Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He was also a former member of the board of directors for the Chicago Title Insurance companies. A graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School, in recent years he taught a course on Real Estate Transactions at the law school. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vivienne, daughters, Melissa and Amanda, son-inlaw John and grandchildren, Samantha and Michael. Funeral services will be held privately.
