Formerly of Tom's River and Millburn, New Jersey on November 23, 2004. Beloved by all who knew her. Devoted wife of the late Benjamin A. Cohen. Adored mother of Marc (Lorraine) Cohen, Leslie (Doug) Hall, and Abby Cohen (Jeff Sandler) and proud grandmother. A nurse's nurse who brought honor to her profession and hope and comfort to innumerable patients. Avid reader, gracious hostess, fabulous cook, lover of music and scenic drives, she had a heart of gold which she gave of unstintingly. She will live on in the acts of goodness she performed and in the hearts of those who cherish her memory. Published in the New York Times on 11/26/2004. Diakoff, Lois Cudworth DIAKOFF Lois Cudworth died on November 18 at the age of 61 after a long battle with cancer. She held degrees in comparative literature from City College and Columbia University and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. She practiced personal injury law for three years and then joined the State Court system where she served as a court attorney and the law secretary to several Appellate Division justices. Most recently she has been the law secretary to Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich. She is survived by her husband Harry Diakoff of New York City and her parents, Richard and Rita Cudworth of San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dances Patrelle, PO Box 6802, NY, NY 10128 or to Doctors Without Borders (1-888-392-0392). A memorial service is planned for January 9. Most recently of Stuart, Florida, formerly of East Meadow, LI and New York City. Predeceased by wives Helen Letica and Helen Tuck and brothers Jules and Dr. Albert Fine. Survived by first wife Fannie Epstein, daughters Susan Hochberg and Maxine Bochnia, grandchildren Michael and Rachel Bochnia and Sarah Hochberg Luijpers (Patrick) and greatgranddaughter Arielle. Also, by stepsons Dr. Gregory Letica, Nick Letica (Terri) and Paul Tuck (Barbara) and stepdaughters Iris Nystrom and Marcia Elfand and by five step grandchildren. Jack's passions as a youth were his political activism, his business Franklin Rapid Dart, the study of the piano and his family. Later on came his love of golf, world travel and the beauty of gardening and living in Florida. Still later he was devoted to chairing and fundraising for the Martin County Literacy Council and the Lyric Theatre. Presently a private family gathering is planned.
