I being at this time in good health of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding. First my will is, that my Executrix, hereinafter named, do pay and discharge all my just debts as soon after my decease as possible and in order to enable her to do that and to bring up and educate my children as well as to support and maintain herself, I do hereby devise and bequeath all my estate whatsoever and wheresoever my loving wife Catherine and to her heirs, Executors and Administrators for ever and I do hereby nominate and appoint her my said wife sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and do by these presents revoke all former Wills by me made and declare this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have herunto set my hand and seal at the City of New York the nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one. Tho Hook Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Hook the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other. Thorne City and County of New York Be it remembered that on this fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two personally came and appeared before me, Silvanus Miller, Surrogate of said County, Richard W. V. Thorne of the City of New York, Druggist, who being duly sworn on his oath declared that he saw Thomas Hook sign and seal an instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will of the said Thomas bearing date the nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one (the preceding whereof is a true copy) and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament that at the time thereof he the said Thomas was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of this deponent that his name subscribed as a witness to the said Will of his own proper hand writing which he subscribed as a witness thereto in the presence of the testator and that he saw John Keese the other witness subscribe his name as a witness in the testators presence. Silvanus Miller The people of the state of New York by the grace of God free and independent to all to whom these presents shall come, or may concern send greeting. Know ye that at the City and County of New York on the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two before Silvanus Miller Esquire, Surrogate of our said County the last Will and Testament of Thomas Hook, deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed by use, and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the (time) of his death, goods, chattels or credits within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us the administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Catherine Hook the Executrix in the said Will named, she being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits, and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto requested. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed, witness Silvanus Miller Esquire.
