Lewis Deceased Be it Remembered, That heretofore, to-wit: On the 10th Day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy five. Alonzo B. Lewis the Executor named in the Last Will and Testament of Daniel G. Lewis late of the Town of Newfane in the County of Niagara deceased, appeared in open Court, before the Surrogate of the County of Niagara, and made application to have the said Last Will and Testament _______________ which relates to both Real and Personal Estate, proved: and on such application the said Surrogate did ascertain by satisfactory evidence who were the widow heirs at law and next of kin of the said Testat and their respective residences, and said Surrogate did thereupon issue a Citation in due form of law, directed to the widow heirs at law and next of kin of said deceased, by their respective names, stating their respective places of residence _____________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________, requiring them to appear before said Surrogate, at his office in the City of Lockport, in said County, on the 6th day of July , A.D. 1875 to attend the probate of said Will, and on said 6th day of July 1875 petitioner appeared in person no one appearing to oppose matter adjourned until the 7th day of July 1875_______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ And afterwards, to-wit: on the 7th day of July A.D. 1875 , satisfactory evidence by affidavit was produced and presented to said Surrogate, of the due service of said Citation in the mode prescribed by law, and on that day said Executor appeared and __________ no one appearing to oppose the Probate of such Will _______________, such proceedings were thereupon had in said Court, afterwards, that said Surrogate took the proofs of said Will __________________________ hereinafter set forth, upon ______________________________ __________________________________________________________________ This 7th day of July 1875, and be thereupon adjudged the said Will ______________________________ to be a valid Will __________________ of Real and Personal Estate, and the proofs to be sufficient, which said Last Will and Testament ____________________________________ and proofs are as follows that is to say: “Will” The Will of Daniel G. Lewis In the name of God. Amen. I Daniel G. Lewis of the town of Newfane in the County of Niagara and State of New York, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament that is to say: First, After all my lawful debts are paid & discharged I give and bequeath and devise. Unto my son, Alonzo B. Lewis, All my right, title, and interest in and to the One undivided one half part of, All that tract or parcel of land situate in the Town of Newfane, in the County of Niagara, and State of New York, and known & distinguished as village Lot number Thirty, And the north part of village Lot number Thirty Two, on the East side of Main Street in the village of Charlotte in the Town of Newfane aforesaid and according to the map and survey of said village made by Jesse P. Haines surveyor. And filed in the clerks office of the County of Niagara , is bounded as follows. West by Main Street Seven Rods. North by Lot number twenty eight, Twenty Rods, east by Mechanic Street Seven Rods. And south by a line parallel to the north boundary Twenty Rods. Containing Seven Eighths of an acre, be the same more or less. It is intended to give, bequeath and devise herein. The same land conveyed to Daniel G. Lewis, By Mary C. Lewis by Dead bearing date the second day of January 1868. Likewise I make, constitute and appoint my son Alonzo B. Lewis to be executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the sixteenth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and seventy one. Daniel G. Lewis in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us: and he at the same time declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last Will and Testament and we at his request have signed our names as witnesses hereto and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.
