The Hanover Cemetery is located in the Town of Marshall, Oneida County,
Waterville, New York. It is a small Cemetery located on the East Side of
Hanover Road about two miles from the village of Waterville, New York. It
is now a closed Cemetery and is now maintained by the Town of Marshall.
Several of the stones are missing and many are broken.

The information for this Cemetery was furnished by George Bissell and
Edward Barton in 1940.  They copied all the information available from the
remaining stones at that time and from any written records they may have
owned.  They also drew a crude map of the Cemetery.

I took the information from their notes and entered them in my computer.
I own the notebook and map.  The following information is copied from the
front page of the notebook.

The average age of death as shown from the existing stones (in 1940) was
45 years.

The first burials marked are for three children
Lumen Austin - 3 years 9 months
Lydia Brigham - 2 years
Rebecca Brigham - 8 years

The most burials for any one year were for the year 1849 when there were
18.

The last shown burial shown was for Anna Whitney Peck wife of John C.
Peck and this was for 1890.
Deacon Solomon Hitchcock was buried in the Cemetery a few years later
but there is no marker.
