Root Cemetery, Rte. 12, Town of Remsen 
The cemetery is located on the east side of Rte. 12 in the Town of Remsen. 
There is only one stone and it sits in the middle of the lot. The stone 
is very badly worn. The inscription was copied on July 31, 2001. 

Root, Prudence, consort of Zalmon Root, Esq., who departed this life Sep. 2, 1800 ae. 34 yrs of her age 
(note: It is possible that the year is 1806, rather than 1800, as the last number is not very legible.)
