Rome Sentinel January 2, 1900
Utica - H. C. Bears, who has been in business in Utica for 50 years, died today 
aged 82. He was born in Delhi and went to Herkimer when a young man. When about 
30 years of he came to Utica and engaged in the planing mill business. Since 
1873 he has been engaged in the manufacture of tents and awnings.
