Rome Sentinel January 6, 1900
 Hecla - Daniel Brannon, an old and respected resident of this place, who died 
at his home on Thursday at the age of 78, was confined to the house only a few 
days. Mr. Brannon was born in Ireland and came to this country when young, 
residing here the past 30 years. He was a man of Christian faith and an earnest 
member of St. Mary’s church at Clinton. Besides his widow he is survived by 
seven children, Mrs. Fred Manchester of Clark Mills, Mrs. James Britton of 
Clinton, Mrs. John Crowley of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Ettie Joyce, Thomas and 
James Brannon of Sycamore, Ill, and Miss Mary Brannon of this place.
