Rome Sentinel January 10, 1899
West Leyden - David Ernst of this place died yesterday of typhoid fever, aged 
81 years. mr. Ernst was born in this town and was a son of Christian Ernst. he 
was married in September last to Miss Amelia Oakley, who survives him he was a 
member of the M. E. Church at Ava and of the Christian Endeavor Society of this 
place, also of the West Leyden Grange. Funeral will be held Wednesday.
