Grems, a former well known lawyer of Rome, died at his home in the town of Westmoreland on Sunday morning. He had been in feeble health for some time. He was born at Dunn Brook, town of Western, Dec. 6, 1834, and wasone of a family of 12 children of George and Nancy Valkenberg Grems. When only nine years old he went to work in New York Mills, receiving his education in nigh schools. For a number of years he lived in this city and was associated with the well known criminal lawyer, the late Joseph L. Says, in the practice of his profession. For 12 years he had lived on his farm where he passed away. Besides his widow, Mrs. Adeline William Grems, he is survived by a daughter and two sons, Mary and Mark W. Grems at home and Burdette H. Grems of Stanwix, one grandson, Burdette H. Grems at Westmoreland, and a sister and brother, Mrs. Albertine Rogers of Utica and George Grems of Iowa. Of genial isposition Mr. Grems made many friends who will regret to learn of his death.
