Rome Sentinel January 6, 1900
The death of Miss Nellie Luther occurred at the home of her sister, Mrs. 
Christopher Schrefer, 229 Ridge street, at 8:30 pm on Friday from peritonitis 
after an illness of about a week. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
John Luther and was born in Lee 22 years ago. The family have lived in Camden, 
Rome, and recently in Williamstown. Mr. Luther died about three years ago. Mrs. 
Luther and her daughter, Nellie, came here three weeks ago to visit friends and 
her daughter was taken ill. There survive only the mother and the sister, Mrs. 
Schrefer. The remains will be taken to Lee on Sunday for interment.
