Rome Sentinel March 9, 1909
Daniel Nickel, aged 66 yrs, a former resident of Utica where he was engaged in 
the rag business, died at the Oneida County Home on Monday night. he had been 
in the home most of the time for the past nine years. For several months he had 
been helpless, suffering from a sort of paralysis
