Rome Sentinel January 22, 1901
Mrs. Caroline Prouty Nock, widow of the late Thomas G. Nock, died at her 
residence No. 211 W. Embargo street, at 12 o’clock last night. 

The deceased had been confined to her bed and room for the past two weeks, but 
her illness was not considered serious until on Friday last. On that morning a 
change came and a council of physicians was held. On Sunday there being no 
improvement, a second council was held, but to no avail. Everything that 
medical skill could devise was done but she gradually grew weaker, until about 
3 pm Monday, when she became unconscious and at midnight passed away without 
regaining consciousness
