He was born in Holland, the son of John and Marie Bakker Wayerink, and came to the United States and New York Mills in 1904. In UUtica, in 1919, he married Genevieve Guinane. Mrs. Wayerink died in 1969. For 23 years, he was employed at the Marcy Psychiatric Center, until his retirement in 1959. He is an Army veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion and an honorary member of the New York Mills Fire Department. He is survived by a sister, Marie Hackenberg of Utica; three nephews, Donald Wayerink, of Utica, Robert Langenberg, of Michigan and Emery Vanderland, of Utica; five nieces, Catherine Brown, of Utica, Patricia Wagner of Utica, Pricilla Odit, of Florida, Norah Bethlehem, of Clinton and Henrietta Bernard of Florida: and great nieces and nephews. The funeral was Tuesday at the Heinz Funeral Home, Utica. Internment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
